MP201 V3
Re: MP201 V3
Here's an off the wall idea.
As I understand it, the pedal is limited in physical memory. My suggestion is to create a "memory manager" software for it, allowing the user to select which features are loaded into the pedal, along with which user presets are saved.
Hopefully there is a v3 final software created, even though it is not sold as new any more.

Vibration emanates from all things, even nothing. Using awareness to translate vibration into "music" is something that I am whole heartedly grateful for.

Re: MP201 V3
honestly I'd give up half the preset space for a couple features.
99 presets is a load, 48 would be adequate. heck if there was an editor/librarian for it 24 would be plenty.

so many ideas and nothing happens....
Re: MP201 V3
Yeah,
I would be grateful just for an editor of the existing rev. I'm using the MP Env functions more lately and it is a bit just to get two envs set-up the way I want (I use the MP on the floor). Maybe it's time to rack the electronics and have the switches & pedal remoted. It's all good once programmed, but getting there.....

Re: MP201 V3
If they publish the SysEx Implementation Chart we can try to make a custom editor using some MIDI tools like Lemur or TB MIDI Stuff.

Hi Amos,Amos wrote:These are all really good suggestions! I am glad to see them as it means there are some serious MP201 users out there
I think I will have time after Moogfest to do a small MP201 update, at least to add the triplets back in. I'm so sorry I haven't done this sooner.
As for the other features / MP201 V3, we will see but I can certainly imagine this being on next year's development schedule.
We have been very busy this year with the Voyager XL, Slim Phatty, Filtatron, and even a couple of surprises still... With our small crew we have to plan well ahead and it can take quite a while to work our way towards even very promising/relevant projects.
Even so, we will get there and this excellent list of requested features will be my first point of reference. Thank you!

I just picked up this message you wrote on Sun Oct 17, 2010 and realized that the MP-201 OS V.3 has never been released since...
I know you (and/or some other folks at Moog Music) decided to kill the MP-201, but however I do believe that your faithful customers deserve an update.
Thank you for your attention.
Regards,
Aleks

Well, I guess now that the MP-201 is definitely gone from the MoogMusic website (was still online on september 13 2013)... I have my answer.Del-Uks wrote: Hi Amos,

The MP-201 was already out of stock for months when they decided to erase it from the Moog Music website.sunny pedaal wrote:probably they need the last one to reprogram the os....

Re: MP201 V3
Is Moog ever going to respond to those of us who own MP-201 units? This was a great physical product, but it has some pronounced issues, yet to be solved.
Moog should least consider giving the community the codebase so that we can start cooking up our own warez for the thing.

An editor for this thing would be awesome. PC, Mac, iOS, Android... I don't care. SysEx implementation guide, please!
Re: MP201 V3
So many LFOs, so little to control them with. Sysex mapping to control wave, freq, level individually would be great!
I've stopped talking now.

I wish they would at least release the sysex info so we can map it to various programs.
