I agree, what an excellent way to celebrate Bob's birthday, with a new OS update for all the Little Phatty Stage Edition synths!

The files are uploading now... links in a moment! :D

The perfect Tribute to Bob would of course be the new OS for ... well you know ...

i agree...
the TE is now a Phatty lite.

i'm really p***ed off, i was thinking that Moog will take care of the TE owners with a V1.4 and the EG Fix, before the Stage V2.
i was wrong.

i know business is business.

A bit worried also,I own a LPTE,the most beautiful machine of them all,but less features, the need to pay more money to almost get the same features as on a stage, gonna try to solder in the memoryupgrade myself, see what will happen.Have some experience in soldering.

Money is money is money as they say.

Every addition to the LP I bought is a bonus, even if there never will be an functional update.

The unwillingness to fix the noise problem, though, is unacceptable. Amos assures us there will be a fix, but we have heard that for a long time now. There is always something else to be done first.

The lessons learned is:
"Don't buy new products from Moog, wait and see what comes next. Bugs will be fixed in later version and new functionality will be added."

The practical result of the lesson is that Moog risks to be selling less of new products, while presumptive customer holds on to their money and biding their time.

But will there be a next version if the initial version doesn't sell enough?

I think Moog is "making a rod for their own back" (is that the correct expression?) by mistreating early buyers. There will be less early buyers with that strategy, and that is not the way to build a business.

About the TE being a Stage II lite, well, if I understood correctly, the TE memory is smaller than the Stage's
What should they have done with the Stage? Stick with the smaller OS memory in order not to frustrate TE's owners?

On the other hand, when I bought the TE, it was my understanding that it was the same synth with a different design
If I had known back then that some slight differences about memory space would prevent me from upgrading the machine, well, maybe I'd have chosen the Stage
But hey, if if if...

That said, my 2 cents about the EGR matrix fix is that it should have been the first update priority
I never understood in the first place how units could be shipped out with such an issue
But then we have to wait for the fix to be bundled with the OS upgrade...

i think Moog should have tell about the REAL differences between the TE and the Stage and not only the "design".

and yes i've bought a TE to be sure to have the more upgradable one.
Moog is making nonsense by upgrading the low end series, before the tribute.

i totaly agree with Assar

Still worried about the noise issue, think the only way to solve this is by sending it back to the factory and have it modified.
Upgrading your products is a good thing,as long as you keep the initial buyers happy I guess.
Still feeling that I should have bought the Stage instead of the Tribute, more functions, more upgradebility and I have heard also a better keybed....

Guess we will have to wait and see.

... which may lead to that you next time think twice before you buy a brand new product from Moog. It's called "practicing your experience" (translation).
