from LPOS20_Addendum.pdf
All Little Phatty users can update to OS 2.0 from any previous version (the LP Tribute Edition requires a
memory upgrade prior to updating the OS

Amos do you know the price of the LP TE memory upgrade ?

This is getting confusing to me
The EGR matrix noise fix, it's part of the OS 2.0?
If so, it means that the fix requires memory upgrade prior?

OK, now read the new manual and get ready for some firmware...
I think you need some pre-release/beta-testers for the version 2.0 update. You know, people like us here on the forum. :)

OT: Dada, our cable system here had all the episodes on their on-demand channel in High Definition. Beautifully shot for the most part, but it was pretty cheesy (downright silly in places). Whoever staged their fight/battle scenes must have worked on Dr. Who in the 70's. :)

More importantly, is it a socketed chip that gets replaced or a surface mounted
component?

This important for International buyers. You don't want to have to send your
LP all the way back to the US for a job that can be done locally by a qualified
Moog technician or at least a professional synth service person.

What gives?

Post by diecapsule » Fri May 16, 2008 10:41 am

Who, when & where will the Stage II's be in stock and available for us customers who are drooling with anticipation? If they were shipped on the 6th of May shouldnt some music supliers have them in stock by now? And what is the deal with Sweetwater, they have the Stage II inthier Spring catalog but they dont even have the Stage Edition on-line any more. What gives? I dont want to sound impatent or anything, I am just so excited to get my hands on the Stage II the wait is killing me (slowely)! Any updates would sure be appreciated!
thanx!!!!!

chip

rachel

It is a little chip soldered to the main circuit board just above the processor. To replace it properly requires good tools for working on surface-mount electronics... not difficult (it's just one 8-pin chip) but not a DIY job unless you are a tech and have the right equipment.

For questions about who will stock the LP II and when, you'll need to call our office. I don't know anything about sales and distribution.

For people with questions about the Tribute Edition: I can only say please be patient and don't worry so much! We'll take good care of you. There will be a TE update which does NOT require any hardware update and which improves the "EGR matrix" noise solution. This version will NOT have the arpeggiator and other v2.0 new features, because it physically can't. There's no room for the extra code without a memory upgrade.

there will also be a TE release of OS 2.0 *WITH* all the new features, but due to the resulting size of the code, this version will require a memory upgrade. The memory upgrade will be inexpensive and readily available; we can perform the upgrade here at the Moog factory or (especially for overseas customers) we can send the new memory chip to you and you can have it fitted by your own technician, or we can recommend a Moog-authorised tech if there is one in your area.

I hope this answers a few questions...

All right, thank you Amos
To me the new features are an extra, so I don't know yet if I'll want to pay for the upgrade
But I'm really concerned about the EGR of course!

Ok, if i understand well,
it's simple and inexpensive to have a LP TE V2.0
and simple to have a V1.4 with the EG problem fixed.

we
just have
to
wait

thanks for this clear answer Amos.

Just loaded a recent version of 2.0 into my Stage 1 using Sysex Librarian and everything went smoothly!! Amos and the rest of the gang here are VERY close to a green light on OS2 for stage 1 owners and my successful download and installation from my mac should hopefully push them closer!! :D

BTW, preset 86 is my current favorite! Engage the arpeggiator (press the VALUE encoder) and for some reason it makes me think of the beginning of this:
