barefoot touchpad control !

Post by another fine day » Thu Aug 07, 2003 6:31 pm

Greetings folks,

The recent hot weather in UK has thrown up an accidental, unspecified foot controller...bare feet touching a metal surface (in this case a keyboard stand) will jack up your potential voltage on the A axis on the touchpad as long as you've also got a finger on it....!

Careful tootsie control results in subtle modulations, entire sole application rather more...er...extreme results ! Patched to filter resonance(as on V1) it's positively dangerous, to pitch.....outrageous!

Go barefoot, lasses and lads, its a blast....

I also noticed that you can touch the 12v lamp connector while manipulating the touchpad to get a similar effect. It's nice because you can increase the amount of "area" without using your whold hand.

This is funky. I just tried what you had mentioned Freq and realised you can touch any metal surface. The more coverage you make with that surface also boosts your modulation. The handle grip to raise the back works good, as does any jack plugged into the synth.

Makes a guy wonder how much modulation goes on in these synths that gets passed through our hands to our brains. Maybe we are all addicted by invisible electrical impulses emanating from analog synths
