Re: 1130 Percussion Controller for sale
It functions like a speaker attached to an envelope follower. The lighter strikes produce smaller voltages, harder strikes produce higher voltages. Because of the foam and the internals, the shell doesn't resonate but nevertheless it allows for rudiment-style articulations that are not possible on k...

It sounds like an interesting historical document, why must it be shrouded in secrecy?

Re: Model 10 patches
Come to think of it I never really did look at the manual to see how transferrable the patches are. Is there any particular sound that you are trying to get? When I first got mine those vintage tones seemed elusive, even with the 901s. This led to a lot of thinking about articulation and external ef...

Re: dipping into modular advice?
The Voyager is the better option as the controller. Get one of those Kenton Midi-CV converters. There are VX units available but Fooger prices have been nuts over the last few months. Reverb seems to enjoy artificially inflating the price.

Re: Moogerfooger Memorial Thread
Where are they for sale other than used, or in a place that isn't taking advantage of the exorbitant prices? I recently emailed Moog to see if they still had things like the tap tempo input for the 105A/B and was told that they don't keep those accessories but they still keep parts to repair and mai...

Re: Spring reverb recommendations?
Charlie, With regard to the VSR 3, this is the demo that sold it for me. You probably saw this. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oUrKlcm0XRE It has very limited tone controls, and got pretty expensive there for awhile on the second hand market. I haven't tried their tube based reverb but that is prob...

Re: Spring reverb recommendations?
This is my "tone stack." It is an AKG BX10 (with a proprietary spring system) that sounds like a plate, with the RE-301's spring reverb, and the Roland DC-50 with a Hall Echo that is a BBD that generates a great reverb effect. Also, the Vermona VSR 3 spring reverb, if you can find one chea...

Sounding like Mort Garson is going to require programming and phrasing similarly to how he did it. Phrasing is almost more important than the actual instrument used.
Moslab and Synth-Werk are about as close as you can possibly get. Maybe those Behringer 900 series modules are just as suitable.

Re: Individual Modules
AlakaLazlo, Thanks for the kind wishes! I hope you and your loved ones have been and remain free of the virus as well. This has been a really frustrating situation for me because Moog's products are so good and all I want to do is support the company and build a custom instrument using things that t...

Re: From Sub37 to Model 15?
You may find yourself wanting an expansion cabinet to go with it. Perhaps an 8u cabinet for extras like a sequencer, filters, or another vca. Or a Kenton Pro-2000 for Midi-CV Conversion.
Stay tuned because I am in the process of working on a Moog vs Moslab comparison.
