You can see why I would want something like that built in to the theremini synth firmware.

It occurs to me that the theremini synthesiser lacks envelope shaping, which is a standard component in the majority of synths. Although note events are not generated by the theremin user interface of the instrument, there is no reason that they could not come from other sources, either a sequencer ...
