Re: prototype

Well, I still stand by ALL comments I've made about the Sub Fatty. They are simply my opinions, so there is no need to defend them. I also think that if it is difficult to get thin sounds out of any synthesizer, then that synthesizer is fairly limited. I don't think this is the case with the Sub Ph...

Re: prototype

I am rubbing my eyes. Did I see someone say "thin and nasal?" Wow. I don't know what demos you've been watching (I haven't watched any of them, actually... I prefer to do my demos without influence!), but as a person who has now had a fair amount of experience of the Sub Phatty, I promise ...

Re: prototype

I always thought having 100 slots to save patches in was totally unnecessary. I had like 5 or 6 patches that I used, and I wanted something different I'd, you know, TWEAK THE KNOBS. 16 is great. People should stop whining and learn how to use a synthesizer. Easy, there, Kenneth. You're starting to ...

I'm going to NAMM. I'll be checking out what the Bob Moog Foundation is doing.

Re: prototype

I feel guilty for the conversation I had with a couple of people involved in this project where I insisted that real keyboard players would not complain about the two-octave keyboard. I really honestly thought that the adage would be something along these lines: "A real keyboard player can make...

Re: Wanted Moog 16 channel vocoder

The Moog vocoder is also a Bode vocoder, and that contributes to its price.

Re: prototype

I think the idea is that if you're not a serious keyboardist, 25 keys is enough. If you are a serious keyboardist, you would also have a master keyboard that's much larger. Ugh, I'm sorry to focus on your response instead of the millions of others, but here it is. It's a monophonic keyboard. You on...

Re: What to look for with a Prodigy

You can get a much more powerful synthesizer that STILL has great tone for less than that price. Don't do it.

Re: Predictions for new Moog Products this year

By "anti-parameter," I mean that I prefer knob-per-function without parametric displays. I seem to be part of a once-large-now-dwindling group of people who want all functions to be immediately accessible— for performance, physical interaction, and creative spark. I prefer my synthesizers ...

Re: Predictions for new Moog Products this year

I gotta say that I hate the touch panel. It has always seemed to interrupt the flow of the Voyager from an aesthetic standpoint, and it seems too "modern (despite having been invented quite awhile ago)" to really appeal to my vintage synth love. All of that being said, the touch panel was ...

Re: Win a Moog Voyager signed by Moogfest 2012 artists!

This year, I insured that no one signed the keys. Due to the delicious irony, I wanted Morton Subotnick to be the only one to sign them, but he wouldn't do it. :) But yes, the rest of the artists I requested that they NOT sign the keys. Last year, when I did the demo of the 2011 version, I was horri...

Alas, if you haven't purchased your raffle ticket, you've missed your chance this year.

The raffle tickets are now sold out. Thank you!

Win a Moog Voyager signed by Moogfest 2012 artists!

Moog Music very graciously donated a gorgeous Moog Voyager to the Bob Moog Foundation so that we could have the Moogfest 2012 artists sign it, and then raffle that synthesizer off in order to support our various education and preservation activities. And you could win it. Click here to enter the raf...
