I took your guys suggestions and started from a 'zero' patch. I had the luxury of spending a full day yesterday digging in and really learned alot. It was pretty easy to tell how most parameters were interacting but I could not quite get a grasp on the Filter Envelope section. It didn't seem to be ...

Seriously, though. I do all my songs as a full midi sequence, with multiple patch changes sent from my sequencer. Well, every so often I screw up and forget to save a patch and lose it. So I start again from scratch like I do with all my sounds. It sucks when you know you had a sound you wanted and ...

There is no firmware fix for the problem. The RAC scanning of the knob positions in Amp EG section was causing the noise. They avoided this in the Stage Edition by simply not using RAC for the Amp EG. The Stage Edition Amp EG is strictly midi, then gets converted to CV. No direct analog control for ...

Keep in mind that using sync means that Osc2 no longer gets sent into the main mix. It strictly gets fed to Osc1 to reset Osc1s wave pattern. So all it does is create a a complex waveform that is entirely sent out from one oscillator. Therefore, the fundamental pitch you hear with sync on is always ...

Well, I got a 100k pot, wired it up and it works. Unfortunately, it only chages the cutoff on half of the full range. If I have the cutoff on the LP all the way down, my outboard knob will only bring the cutoff halfway up. I need to put the LP knob halfway for my outboard knob to take the cutoff up ...

Just use an expression pedal connected to the "filter CV" input jack on the LP to control filter cutoff, and use the Filter section RAC knob to control Resonance. Voila; all-analog control. As has been said, you can wire up a knob and potentiometer to work just like the expression pedal. ...

Thanks for the input. I do have a Korg keyboard which has assignable midi knobs, but I was looking for straight analog. I'll keep looking.

CV Knob - Update!

Maybe this is taking analogue too far but I'd really like to be able to control both the cut-off and resonance using analog controls. I know I could plug an expression pedal into the cut-off cv, but I was wondering if anyone knew of a product that did the same thing except it is a knob instead of pe...

An easy way to think of modulation is that it moves the knob for you. It does not physically move the knob of course, but it sends out voltage signals as if the knob were moving. Therefore, sending the mod to the wave destination is like moving the wave knob manually. Unfortunatley, the LP sends mod...

Thanks for the advice, I have read all this, but I do not agree. I doubt that it is the oscillator that sounds that different in the Moog LP and the Minimoog. I am almost certain that it is the filter. And the only way you could find out more about that was if you would compare the waveforms of the...

I know, I know. I'm just hoping the next update will move the EGR On/Off to the preset menu. Basically, I'm hoping not to change my OS every time they update. And I'm having a great time as is. If I want digital noise, I have plenty of digital synths to plug into the audio in jack. Although, switchi...

There is no word for "analog like". Digital synths which emulate analog synthesizers are called virtual analog. As far as analog vs. analogue, it's similar to flavor vs. flavour and color vs. colour. Same words, different spellings.
