Re: New custom CV controller in the works: The Spider [x-pos

As mentioned before, here's a new video showing a little bit of what The Spider can do: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=i0KuRft7UCk This is the first time the Spider has been hooked up to Moog gear. We'll be making more of these as we add more functionality. Keep coming back to http://spidercontrolle...

Re: New custom CV controller in the works: The Spider [x-pos

Will you be making the PCB files or schematic's & code public? I am not sure what the long-term plans are, but we have no current plans for this. We hooked the Spider up to my Slim Phatty and Moogerfoogers for the first time yesterday, and were able to play with it. It worked wonderfully, and w...

Re: New custom CV controller in the works: The Spider [x-pos

Thanks, everyone! We're getting pretty excited. Can't wait for the moment when I can hook it up and start making noise.

Slabwax: we're not marketing these, it's a one-off project.

Re: New custom CV controller in the works: The Spider [x-pos

Hey everyone, A quick update for those who are interested in DIY synth gear: After the holiday season and a long trip abroad, we're back at working on the Spider. The enclosure has been professionally painted (black and red), and we've landed on a graphic design. Kévin applied a temporary cover, mad...

Re: New custom CV controller in the works: The Spider [x-pos

A quick update on where this project stands: the mother board itself is completely soldered, all that's left to be done is hooking up the user interface pieces: potentiometers, switches, buttons, LEDs and the big LED screen. We've also applied the first coat of paint, although it needs a serious red...

Re: New custom CV controller in the works: The Spider [x-pos

Hey guys, It's been a while, but we've made a lot of progress on the custom CV controller project. We recently added a lot more video and pictures on the blog: http://spidercontroller.tumblr.com/ http://25.media.tumblr.com/tumblr_m6yky4seGi1rruns6o2_250.jpg http://25.media.tumblr.com/tumblr_m6yk30nX...

Re: New custom CV controller in the works: The Spider [x-pos

xombiexplox: We haven't discussed releasing the source code. I'll bring it up with Kévin and we'll see. The setup will be a bit complicated: we'll be using two Arduinos, one Mega 2560 for taking in the 50+ inputs, and an Arduino Uno that is dedicated to generating the signals, using a custom protoco...

Re: New custom CV controller in the works: The Spider [x-pos

Thanks :D Things are in the very early stages at the moment, but Kévin and I are both very excited. This Sunday, we're getting together and see (or rather, hear) how the test signals he's generating actually sound when controlling Moog gear. If that goes well, we move on to ordering most of our part...

New custom CV controller in the works: The Spider [x-post]

( Cross-post from Moog Controllers forum) Hey everyone, A friend and I are currently working on a custom CV controller for my Slim Phatty and Moogerfoogers. It has 4 LFO/Envelope generators, synced to a master tempo (tap or MIDI clock). It's called The Spider, and here is (roughly) what it'll look ...

Re: MF102 Mix knob going beyond 100% modulation problem

Awesome, thanks, guys. :D SteveD, your explanation makes total sense.

For what it's worth: before I'd read SteveD's explanation, I took my MF102 to my friend who had the one I'd played with, and they behaved exactly the same.

The more you know....

MF102 Mix knob going beyond 100% modulation problem [SOLVED]

Hey guys, I just got my MF102 after seeing it at a friend's house and being impressed. The problem is, the MIX knob on my unit seems to do more than crossfade between dry and wet. When I turn it past 4 (or so), it sounds like the modulation signal folds and essentially doubles in frequency. Here's a...

Re: Animoog Network Midi Connection refused..

Allow me to add my experience so far in case it might help someone at Moog debug: My iPhone 4 with iOS 5.0.1 also gets the dreaded "refused connection" error message, even when on an AdHoc network with my Mac Mini running Lion. However, when I reboot my iPhone and the first thing I do is s...

Assar wrote:How about an even Slimmer Phatty?
Without the control knobs, just midi in/through and buttons enough to recieve patches.
Then it would be really modular!
I came here to say exactly this. One afterthought on that video was: "what a waste of such wonderful knobs!"
