Re: Proud Owner

Thank you :D I actually intended to have the finish a bit lighter than this, but i'm still very pleased with the end result. I used three coates of teak wood stain (sanding in between each coat), then finally finishing with three coates of clear lacquer. The end result is a shade between teak and ma...

Re: cp-251/vx-351 rackmount kit: power

The VX-351 connects directly from the parellel (21-pin) port in your Voyager to the parallel port on the front panel of the VX-351. All CV expansion connections and necessary power is provided from the Voyager via this lead. The CP-251 is a totally independant module in the fact that it requires a p...

Re: Voyager OS with Sequencer

Yes, me too.
The specs in the manual state 1v/Octave, and one would think this was 'per octave', without the need for the CP-251 or VX-351.
I'm very interested to find out when the sequencer arrives. :?

Re: Voyager OS with Sequencer

Thanks guys for all the advice. I'll be feeding the pitch from the Voyager to the Sequencer through the VX-351 so it will enable me to 'fine tune'. I'm still waiting to receive the Sequencer in the post, but as soon as I have it I'll let you guys know how I get on :D P.S.- I'm also waiting for a ver...

Voyager OS with Sequencer

Hi Ok, this may sound really basic to some, but modular synthesis is still a little new to me and I'm learning slowly! I have acquired an old Roland CSQ-100 Sequencer which is good olde CV & Gate driven, for which I would like to hook up to my Voyager OS. CV and Gate 'Out' from my VOS is quite s...

Yippee! I've completed my theremin kit this evening and it actually worked first time with no adjustments necessary! Although I did test it first without the top cover on, and all ok, if a little quiet. But when I tested again with the cover in place, it nearly blew my speakers! The differen...

Re: Do I need a special cable for CV?

Balanced and non-balanced, refers to the output (level) of the device, and in the case of a Theremin, this isn't applicable.
As long as you use a good 'audio quality' patch lead with 1/4" jacks, it will be fine. :D

Re: VOS Name Plate

Hi Luke Yes it does. It's exactly the rectangular nameplate that you have pictured with 'Voyager OS' underneath MiniMoog. very odd how it appears to be mounted in two different places and why? :? I know that there has since been more than 500 Old School's produced with quite a few who have logged th...

Re: VOS Name Plate

Hi
I've attached a couple of pics.
Also the very first production run of 0001-0003 have the 'square' nameplates mounted in the centre (according to the pics on the net).
Mine is exactly the same as tho

Hi
I have exactly the same nameplate as pictured, but in the centre.
I've seen equal amounts of both. :?

Re: Power Switch on Voyager Old School

Yes thats a very good point. The juice here in the U.K is pretty good, but I still run my stuff through a surge protector block just to be safe. I just have to remember when I just unplug the OS that I don't touch the plug pins straight away... Last time I did that I had a minor surge back from the ...

VOS Name Plate

Ok peeps, Here's a real 'anorak' question, and I think I definitely need to get out more, but this has always puzzled me... I have noticed on various VOS pics, that there appears to be two different VOS nameplate styles. One being 'Minimoog Voyager OS' in a single line, and another with 'Minimoog', ...

Re: Power Switch on Voyager Old School

Many thanks for that, and I agree as I think the same. It's just that some switches on components (I have a PA Amp as an example), whereby the switch is wired on the DC output side and therefore although switches the item off, it doesn't actually turn the internal transformer off, as would do if wir...

Re: Voyager Old School Add-On's

Ooh yes! The Doepfer Dark Time Sequencer will go with the rest of your Moog Kit very well (same appearance and all). Nice and logical layout to the Sequencer too. I'm currently in 'mid-build' with the 'Music from Outer Space' (MFOS) 8-Step Sequencer, as I started to build this before getting my hand...

Power Switch on Voyager Old School

Hi All Hope someone will be able to answer this as it doesn't really stste anything in the Manual... Does anyone know if just by switching the VOS off from the power switch on the synth, if this actually switches off the mains, or is it merely on 'standby'? The reason I ask is that currently I'm swi...
