Re: Is your Matriarch delay working properly?

I have the same issue on mine. Even occurs when no patch cables are used.. It only occurs when SYNC/TAP is on.. I think it is akin to a switch from 1/8th 1/16th time division.. maybe some bounce between 2 values... so sounds like a glitchy knob... I read on Gearspace that it is a known bug that will...

Re: Several problems on Minimoog model D

As someone with only a rudimentary understanding of the insides of these synths I appreciate all the tech talk on the forum. Without this forum I would not have been able to get my Minimoog back up to spec... I especially appreciated Kevin´s old post on measuring voltage via the heat sinks for examp...

Re: OT-ish: Arp ProSoloist help

More likely they were derived from the 2500 not 2600. Too bad ARP never designed a derivative with front panel knobs and switches (it wasn't the Explorer). . Do you know of anyone who has modded their ProSoloist with sliders in order to make their own patches? I could imagine it would be a great sy...

Re: OT-ish: Arp ProSoloist help

From what I understand the presets were derived upon from the ARP2600 and then stored in the ProSoloist ROM.

You can actually tell from a lot of the patches which have a very Stevie Wonder feel to them at times... The flute and french horn especially sound great with the right filter setting.

Re: OT-ish: Arp ProSoloist help

Hey Synthguy, seems that Arp has been out in the rain! Hope you get her back to normal soon! My Arp is a bit scratched on top and some of the rocker switches have snapped but all in all she is in pretty good shape! https://dl.dropbox.com/u/762524/arp%20prosoloist.jpg What I am realising is that thos...

Re: OT-ish: Arp ProSoloist help

Solved! Turned out to be a connector on the Envelope Generator Board (Board B).

Now sounding as good as new... I reckon that I´ve probably had problems with that connector since I got the board 3 years ago.

Re: OT-ish: Arp ProSoloist help

Synthguy, sorry I missed your post! My thoughts exactly... I plan to take the whole thing apart and give it a good cleaning...

There was a hell of a lot of weird digitalish noises going on the other day...

Re: OT-ish: Arp ProSoloist help

Thanks Kevin, Vibrato still works for the broken sounds. Just sounds like the VCA is always open on those sounds. Tried going through every one of the broken sounds (as well as a few "good" ones) and seeing which components were being commonly used but that did´t help. I am wondering if it...

OT-ish: Arp ProSoloist help

Yep, not strictly Moog related (though I suppose mine has the Moog filter 8) ) Was wondering if anyone had expertise on solving a problem that has appeared on mine after not using it much for a year or so. Or perhaps they could point me in a direction regarding Arp users and so forth. Anyway, my pro...

Re: Tell us about your rig

Hehe thanks man, It took a long time to get all this together... about 25 years! Actually I tend to stick with a few pieces for ages do some compositions and then move on to other equipment as time permits. Otherwise I think having all this gear can be a bit of a distraction. The key piece for me at...

I liked the groove but found the keyboard playing a bit nervous and uninspiring... I like the basic idea of the group though... I think there should be more groovy rhodes/moog trios....

very interesting MC! I'm not sure what it all means in terms of sound but I always thought the Voyager sounded more like the modular synths of old than the mini... funny to see the notch in the triangle wave in particular.. I wonder if this was 'designed in' I rather suspect it was!

Great idea on using the oscilloscope software! I don't have both synths hooked up atm but over xmas will.. when using the Voyager I don't recall the huge volume drop that I get with the Mini when using the tri and bent tri... Certainly many aspects of this particular moog need calibration (e.g. the ...
