Re: POLY WANT A PHONIC?
I think they could do a 6-voice Poly Phatty w/ a little something extra for about as much as a Voyager goes for. Nothing ridiculous about that, VCO synths cost way more than Curtis chip synths. The question is: is a VCO synth better suited for polyphonic purposes than a Curtis ship synth? For certa...

Re: POLY WANT A PHONIC?
A 2- or better 4-voice LP could probably be sold at around 3500€. Expensive, but worth the money for those who want it. I agree that a 4-voice Phatty would be a very good idea. But I think it would have to be much cheaper. If its price would exceed the price of a Prophet ´08 nobody would buy it. A ...

You cannot replace the LP with a VST. No virtual analogue synth will come close. I have tried it. The Arturia Minimoog is good until you hear an original analogue Moog, the GForce Minimonsta is better, but still not as good as the original. The closest you can get to a Moog with a digital VA-Synth i...

Who needs such an editor for the Little Phatty. This synth is so easy to use on its own, that such an editor is completely useless in my opinion. You do not pay 1349,- Euro for an analogue synthesizer to turn the knobs on the computer screen in the end, do you? If you like software editors, you can ...

My conclusions are that - you need a basic level of ability; ability for its own sake isn't too important (and we agree on that); if you're fresh and different you can perhaps get away with less ability, at least initially; to be really relevant you need to have a new voice, and right now we seem t...

Sweep, I do not like the White Stripes very much either and I understand your point, but I think you should consider that mastering an instrument is only one thing, making good music is another thing. In my opinion this has nothing to do with fashion, hype or your age. This discussion is quite old i...

I got my LP from Thomann before they even claimed to have it available. If they say it is in stock, it is in stock. I have never had any other experience with them. Thomann is certainly not known for high prices ... if the LP is more expensive in Germany than in the UK it might have something to do ...

Thanks for the advice, I have read all this, but I do not agree. I doubt that it is the oscillator that sounds that different in the Moog LP and the Minimoog. I am almost certain that it is the filter. And the only way you could find out more about that was if you would compare the waveforms of the ...

That's like saying you can play a Minimoog lead on a Microkorg. Your position is that of a purist. Sure I am a purist :D ... This is the reason why I have bought a Moog synthesizer ... the Moog Little Phatty ... and the Moog LP is the best synthesizer, that I have ever bought ... but I have bought ...
