Moog Donates Custom Little Phatty to Youthville Detroit

As the driving beats of techno filled the air of Detroit, signalling the opening of Movement, Alex Medley of Moog Music was busy presenting Rita Clark and Mike Huckaby of Youthville Detroit with a custom green Little Phatty. Moog donated this synthesizer in honor of Detroit, the birthplace of techno, and the declaration of this week as techno by Detroit Mayor Dave Bing. Youthville Detroit is a non-profit orginization devoted to providing a safe place for youth by providing program opportunities and personal support. The Little Phatty will be used in Youthville's Music Tech Studio run by Mike Huckaby, where students will not only be taught how to craft beats using a digital workflow, but will also learn how to sculpt sounds using analog synthesizers.
