Humans have been rythmically slapping their thighs and tapping their feet throughout history, and controller designer Tyler Freeman took notice. "I'm a drummer and my friends are drummers. I see people drumming on their pants all the time [...] and I figured they should be able to make real music that way. So in grad school, I invented DrumPants." said Freeman who holds degrees in Computer Science and Digital Arts & New Media, and has been published in numerous books and journals on the subject of gesture-controlled wearable interfaces.
