Asheville, NC- November 17th, 2011- Moog Music today announced the end of the introductory promotional pricing period for Animoog, the companies’ professional synthesizer for the iPad. Animoog is the first music App in history to hit number one in The App Store on its release date and has received nearly 1000 five star ratings in its first thirty days of release.
Animoog made its debut in The App Store on October 17 at the promotional price of $.99. Today it returns to its regular price of $29.99. “Our goal with the initial pricing was to make this amazing technology available to everyone. The incredibly positive responses and feedback and our number one position in the App store have confirmed our achievement of that objective. Animoog has opened the window of synthesis to thousands of people who heretofore would have never explored their musical ability,” said Mike Adams, President/CEO of Moog Music.
In 30 days Animoog has gained wide acceptance from hobbyist to professional musicians alike. Much more than a simple app, Animoog takes full advantage of the iPad's multi-touch surface and gives artists the creative freedom to create and intimately control their entire sonic universe. "Animoog is hands down one of the coolest synths to come out for the iPad... I have never seen anything like it before. I would have paid hundreds for a synth engine that sounds this good," said Sound Designer and Warp Records recording artist Richard Devine.
Moog Music plans to continue development and expansion of Animoog in the future. “We are continuing research and development on this unique platform and are extremely excited about what Animoog could grow to become in the future,” said Adams. "It is the perfect embodiment of the legacy of Bob Moog who firmly believed in innovation and especially innovation that leverages the most current technology."
Animoog captures the expansive sonic vocabulary of Moog synthesizers and applies it to the modern touch surface paradigm. It allows you to navigate through a vast sonic universe in a flexible and constantly evolving fashion; similar to the modular synthesizers that Moog pioneered five decades ago.
