Today Giorgio Moroder turns 73. Even if you don't recognize the name, chances are you are familiar with Moroder's prolific and widely influential works. From his 1970's disco hits with Donna Summer (Love To Love You Baby & I Feel Love) to his sonic contributions that defined an entire era of film in the 1980's (Scarface, Top Gun, Flashdance, The Never Ending Story), Giorgio's music has had a lasting impact.

Moog Sound Lab: Diamond Rings - Runaway Love
Diamond Rings, aka John O' Regan, was a long way from Toronto when he stepped into the Moog Sound Lab, but he made himself right at home reshaping “Runaway Love” off of 2012’s Free Dimensional. The androgynous glam star strays away from the up-tempo, euphoric dance cuts heard on his recent full-length to give way to an organic sound that is both raw and dreamy, thanks to an arsenal of Moog synthesizers.

Nika Roza Danilova, aka Zola Jesus, is best known for her dark moody ballads, but with the 2011 release Conatus, Nika moved forward creating her most dynamic album to date. Not content to rest Zola Jesus ventured into the Moog Sound Lab and further evolved her single “In Your Nature.” In its original incarnation “In Your Nature” existed as an epic operatic with dance floor sensibilities, but here Nika imbues the song with analog warmth that contrasts her cold, snowy upbringing.
