Synth Pioneer Giorgio Moroder turns 72.

Legendary electronic composer Giorgio Moroder turns 72 today. Moroder has been composing award winning movie scores and chart topping hits since the 1960s, and was selected to score the closing ceremonies for the 2008 Bejing Olympics. Moroder has recently been inducted in the Dance Music Hall of Fame, and is the winner of 3 Oscars for "Top Gun," "Flashdance," and "Midnight Express". He has also been honored with 4 Golden Globes, and 3 Grammies.
