10th Anniversary Minimoog Voyager Winner, Thomas Echols!

The lucky winner of the 24-Kt Gold 10th Anniversary Minimoog Voyager Giveaway has been a closely guarded secret since January, but yesterday in Austin, Texas we were finally able to surprise one Moog fan with the gift of a lifetime.  When the 10th Anniversary Minimoog Voyager was conceived, we decided to give one away as a thank you to our customers for making the Minimoog Voyager the best selling analog synthesizer of the last decade. All registered Minimoog Voyager owners were automatically entered into the drawing, as well as anyone who submitted a photo to our contest entry page or sent in an entry card to the Moog factory.  From thousands of entries, the randomizer chose Austin resident Thomas Echols as the winner on January 11th 2013.  Rather than just announce it on the website, and since we already had plans to attend SXSW in Austin, we decided to present the prize to Tom in person in his hometown.  We had Tom's local Moog dealer and one of the best synth stores in the country Switched On invite Tom to play a set as part of the Moog festivities at SXSW this year. Grateful for the invite and happy to play, Tom had no idea just how amazing a day this would turn out to be for him.

Tom played for almost an hour in front of the store having no idea that the golden Minimoog Voyager in the window behind him would be going home with him.  We lured Tom back into the shop as he was packing up to leave under the pretense of a group photo and that's when we presented him with the prize of a lifetime; the 10th Anniversary Minimoog Voyager.  Watch as he goes from disbelief to utter joy in under 30 seconds.

On behalf of all of us here at Moog, congratulations to Thomas Echols-- may you make wonderful music all your days with the 10th Anniversary Minimoog Voyager. Thank you to all of our customers and everyone who entered the contest-- your decade long support has allowed us to continue handcrafting synthesizers in Asheville, NC to this day. Without you, we wouldn't be able to continue on the work we do at the company that Bob Moog started. We will always be grateful for your support.  Love, your friends at Moog.

Print on demand is a printing technology and business process in which new copies of a book (or other document) are not printed until an order has been received, which means books can be printed one at a time. While build to order has been an established business model in many other industries, "print on demand" developed only after digital printing began, because it was not economical to print single copies using traditional printing technology such as letterpress and offset printing. Many traditional small presses have replaced their traditional printing equipment with POD equipment or contract their printing out to POD service providers. Many academic publishers, including university presses, use POD services to maintain a large backlist; some even use POD for all of their publications. Larger publishers may use POD in special circumstances, such as reprinting older titles that are out of print or for performing test marketing.
