Hello guys, anybody has an estimate of the release date for the new Little Phatty II OS?

We had a meeting about this yesterday, and we determined that our plan of action is to get all of the currently-implemented features working very well for version 2.0, in time for this version to ship with the first LP Stage II's. In theory, this will happen around the middle of April.

Then, as soon thereafter as we can, we will release OS 2.1 which will implement all of the "extra" features that we really want to put in version 2, but can't add in all at once for fear of delaying our ability to ship product.

Once LP OS v2.0 is finished and shipping out the door, we can release it for current LP Stage owners... although we want to work very carefully to make sure there are no problems with the firmware upgrade process before we do a public release. Likewise, once OS v2.1 is solid and stable enough to put into production, we can release it to our existing users. This is probably the point at which we will port the new code over to the LP Tribute Edition platform (don't worry, we will definitely do this!). We may do a Tribute version of 2.0 but given that 2.1 is going into development virtually the moment that 2.0 is finished, it might not make good sense to spend time (and money) porting 2.0 to the Tribute, when it will be replaced almost immediately by 2.1.

There you have it, the very most current state of affairs. Right now MIDI sync is working beautifully and I am testing the tap tempo, which is in progress.

Cheers,

Amos

Ok. Does anyone know if they have started shipping the new Stage II's yet? That looks to be the first step in the process...

I know they just started shipping the voyager Old Schools week before last, but has anyone heard anything about the new LP's?

Is the Stage II already shipping?

and if somebody has one, does it have the new OS 2.0 installed?

Many Stage II's have been built, but they will not ship until the OS is ready.
This should be Any Day Now. Hopefully early next week.

I can't wait!

Great

I can't wait, I am so happy about the midi clock sync and the arpeggiator. It's going to rock.

Thanks for the update Amos

Are the Stage 2's presets in that sysex supported in the Stage 1 once it gets the new OS with the Arp?

Also, that being said, can anyone help me with my SysEx librarian question in the MIDI thread? I've been able to send content (like the Taurus patch) but haven't been able to retrieve it. I was hoping someone might know what to do about that.

I can't wait!

WOW
Big thanks for the sound bank, I wish every manufacturer would give away so many sounds!!!
I have to say it's a very impressive sound bank to me, and I'm not a preset guy, I always found them quite disappointing
Some awesome sounds in there

Khoral, are they all working fine for you?

Transmitting that bank using SysEx librarian, presets 0-24 have normal names and play fine, and after 24, the names are garbled (random ASCII characters with lots of spaces) and the sounds are very very odd. I did right click and do "save as". What I did hear in 0-24 was good though :)

Anyhow, I did a factory reset and I'm back to normal.

Amos, is that expected? I'm a bit worried about transmitting the new OS when that comes out if this isn't expected -- it might imply I have a bad MIDI interface, but I have no idea.

It worked fine from the beginning
I sent the sysex using Midi OX and went through all patches one by one, no problem

Ok, it worked that time. There's some good stuff in there, thanks! I'm sure those are crazy with the arp. I also really like some of the heavier ones -- apparently my earlier attempts to program this beast were not going all the way to 11 :) Does the name "bitcrusher" also imply there is also going to be a new bitcrusher?

I assume the firmware loader is checksummed so I can't brick my box during an update unless the power goes out or something, right?

My first update went smoothly enough, I sure hope this one will too, I don't worry too much about it anyway
I love the 70s vintagish quality of some presets there, I can tell how my programming skills really SUCK;)
