Heavy Metal Phatty Demo

Post by Zorn » Wed May 09, 2007 2:55 am

This is a little Demo I recorded last night with my LP (sorry, direct link doesn't work so you have to copy and paste the URL on your web browser):

http://xoomer.alice.it/zorn/Zorn%20s%20 ... Ballad.mp3

This song was recorded using only the LP except of course for the drums and the Pad on the first solo part.

I love this lead sound... It's one of the best leads I've ever played...

Holy bleedin' F*!! Thats the LP? It aint MY LP for sure. That sounds absolutely awesome. It sounds like guitar... you are obviously quite talented. 8)

What settings can I start from to get this type of sound & what sequencer (software) did you use? Wow.
Little Phatty TE #1023 • Schrittmacher • Walking Stick ribbon • Korg microXL/Electribe MX/KaossPro • Sonnus G2M
MF-101 Filter • MF-102 Ring • MF-103 Phaser • MF-104Z Delay • MF-105 MuRF • MF-107 FreqBox • MF-108M Cluster • Etherwave

If you start from preset #25 (Guitar Gyros) it's quite simple.
Turn the resonance at 3 o'clock and overload near max.
At this point you are very close to my sound.
Adjust the glide and the envelopes a little and assign the mod wheel to the filter and the job is done! I also used the pitch bender at +/- 12

What is really amazing is that the filter is also influenced by the keyboard dynamic so you can play in a very expressive way!

As concerns the sequencer I simply used Apple Garageband...

Cheers!

The Overdriven Pad it's another of my favorite sounds from the LP. The other Pad on the back it's from the Korg Radias.

Too bad you can't do windmills on a keyboard. At least not and look cool about it.

Cool shreds. I liked the resonance burbling in there.

 I thought I'd tried the paste-into-the-browser technique... must have copied it wrong the first time.

I'm listening again for the second time, and this is a really expressive performance! Very nice work and good sounds. Thank you!

This sounds great and it shows the capabilities of the Moog LP as a lead instrument. But it does not sound like a guitar at all. That´s rubbish.
