Minitaur Midi Clock LED

I`m trying to establish a optical midi-clock display on the Minitaur's Midi-LED while syncing from Logic.

There's no blinking neither with the Sysex "LED on" nor "LED off" from the "handy Minitaur sysex commands":

MIDI Clock LED:
F0 04 08 1E [xx] 00 F7:
[xx] = 00 disables the MIDI LED blinking on every MIDI clock(default); [xx] = 01 enables.

I get a LED blink on Start / Stop, but not for the Clock - any suggestions?

As MIDI clock are send like 24 clock ticks per quarter note, you would note be able to see each clock signal with the human eye, unless you got down to slow BPM rates like 20 or less.
So the MIDI clock is not suitable to be used as optical information in a visual metronome like way.
And if a synth enables to show the MIDI clock on a MIDI status LED, you will see a continues lit LED. And as MIDI clock is not per channel, but global, you would not be able to see, if MIDI note or controller data is coming in.

Hi Till, thanks for your kind reply!

I may have expressed myself clumsily, of course I would like to have the bpm beats of the midi clock displayed, as many devices do.

The sysex command implies the flashing of the midi clock, which it does not do even when activated, not even as 24 ppq. So the question remains as to what this command actually does...

I think it is just not the right description in the manual. A manual bug like thing. As this setting is changing a thing, here seeing the LED flash on the MIDI clock related Start/Stop commands, it is most likely working as intended. But the manual is just wrong. This wouldn't be the first case of a manual bug in synths.
