Envelope Filter Tech Question

Postby space_nerd » Tue Nov 21, 2006 10:34 am

Hello there,
I have this question:
which way an guitar signal could trigger the envelope in the moog filter pedal? Has it an envelope follower?
I guess this could be also with a vocal or drum signal.
Has it any sensitivity, about when to trigger?
Any help? MC? Kevin?
Thanks!

OK,
my bad English ruined the question!
So let's go again:

which way the envelope in the moogerfooger filter is triggered, when it receives an audio signal?
Has it an envelope follower?
How it works?
I guess the envelope could also be triggered with a vocal or drum signal.
Has it any sensitivity to "tell" the circuit when to trigger?
Thanks again,
Hope that will someone answer this time.

Yes, the Filter Pedal is an envelope follower. It tracks the amplitude or loudness of the in comming signal and converts this signal into a control voltage (which in turn controls the cut-off frequency of the filter). There's a knob to vary the amount that the envelope will effect the filter cut-off, and a switch to vary the speed of the envelope.
There's also an output jack for the envelope.
