1980 RA minimoog mg 1 for sale....

I have a RA minimoog i want to get rid of, its like in new shape, in the same box and styrafoam...I am trying to get rid of it and like i dont want to pay the fees on like ebay and bleep.. i have a pay pay account...but like i want like 500 obo... any one intrest hit me up on aim or on here..

what do you mean con? I Really Have one and im trying to get rid of it.. i was told 500 is what i could get for it... ill take like 400 for it though.. hit me up on aim if anyone wants to know the details my sn is b4thedownfall

note: a "minimoog" and and a "realistic mg-1" are VERY different.

One difference being about $1300 bucks.

Let's be fair. The word `Minimoog' was misleading, but that doesn't mean it was deliberate. I don't think anyone deliberately trying to pass this instrument off as a Minimoog would try to do that on a specialist Moog site.

Vintage Synth Explorer estimates the value at between $200 and $400.

Here's what they say about it:

This is the very source of cheap Moog bass! It is a lot like the strap-on Moog Liberation in its design and architecture and also looks and sounds very much like the Moog Rogue. The MG-1 was built by Moog for Realistic (Radio Shack), and was designed specifically for the home market. Very basic and easy to use, this is a nice cheap way to get your hands on Moog sounds!

The MG-1 is a 2-VCO monophonic/polyphonic analog synth with a genuine 24dB/oct Moog filter, however the overall sound is thin. On the MG-1, the VCOs are referred to as 'Tone Generators'. It can produce sawtooth, square and pulse waveforms, and the oscillators are detunable and syncable. A simple ASR (attack, sustain, release) envelope called 'Contour' can be applied to both the amp and the filter. The LFO section provides triangle or square wave patterns as well as Sample-and-Hold. Additionally there is a simple Ring-Mod effect called 'Bell'.

Unique to the MG-1 is a slider on the far right side of the keyboard which controls the volume of a simple 10-voice polyphonic organ sound. This feature makes it at least a little more versatile than the Rogue. There are RCA inputs and outputs (the input is routed straight to the output for playing along with music from your stereo system) but no external speakers as in most other home marketed synthesizers. There is also no sign of Midi or patch memory on the MG-1. It is used by Peter Gabriel, 808 State, Remy Shand, and KMFDM.

I use PrePal when I research fair prices for older synths. They have listings for Moog synths.

The MG-1 is listed at $297.00 based on 75 synths. So, you may get $500 for the MG-1, but it looks more around $300 or so.

but it is true that ones have sold for as much as 600 on ebay before. a lot of thse 375$ ones are from people who say

"whoa i found this in my attic and have no idea how to use it. it turns on, and makes a weird noise so i assume its in great working condition."

then you get it and have to spend 200$ in repairs. ebay is a tricky place
